Domaine Aegerter: 38 years of history in Nuits-Saint-Georges

The story of the estate,
from Jean-Luc to Paul Aegerter

Every terroir has a story; we give it a voice.

The philosophy
of the estate

Paul Aegerter shapes his own vision of Burgundy. His quest? To create pure, vibrant wines that reveal the many facets of these great terroirs and naturally invite sharing and conviviality.

Respect

After many years of sustainable farming, the estate reached a major milestone with organic certification from the 2024 vintage onwards. The house continues to move forward with method and conviction, putting the vine and its ecosystem first.

Passion

Each cuvée is designed individually, with its own approach to vinification and aging. Whole clusters, aging in ceramic eggs, precise management of sulfites… We explore different techniques to create unique and innovative wines, always in service of the fruit, purity and the expression of the terroir.

Balance and finesse

The balance and finesse of our wines aim to faithfully mirror the Climats of Burgundy. A finely chiseled structure, pure substance and a length on the palate that unfolds with delicacy: the hallmark of a house that favors precision and emotion over showiness.

A modern approach

Offering a contemporary perspective on Burgundy, stepping off the beaten track and daring a fresh reading of the great terroirs, without ever denying the history that shaped them. Earning a lasting place in the Burgundy landscape, while cultivating an innovative and singular approach.

Our know-how,
the expression of terroir

Our vines draw their strength from a mosaic of exceptional terroirs, where the complexity of limestone and clay soils is fully expressed under a distinctly continental climate.

In the vineyard, precision in every gesture

Everything starts with an intimate knowledge of our plots and their balance. Our work in the vineyard adapts to the particularities of each terroir and to the conditions of each vintage, with constant attention to quality and to the grapes reaching just the right ripeness.

In the cellar, a tailor-made approach

The cellar becomes a true space for expression. Extraction, whole-cluster or destemmed fruit, choice of vessels and length of aging are adjusted cuvée by cuvée. A free yet precise approach that lets us bring out each wine’s own character without ever standardizing it.

For our white wines

Extended aging on fine lees brings richness, breadth and complexity to the palate, while preserving a mouthwatering tension and freshness.

For our red wines

Above all, we seek the brightness of fresh fruit, supple tannins and the refinement of a fine, fluid structure.

Two models, one standard of excellence: from regional appellations to grands crus

Our strength lies in a unique balance between our own vineyards and long-term partnerships.
